play with purpose
30 camps and programs worldwide.
SeriousFun Children’s Network spans the globe with a thriving community of 30 camps and programs that have served children from over 50 countries and throughout five continents. Designed around the principle of purposeful play, creative staff members and volunteers ensure that every child experiences success and gains the confidence to try new and exciting things in a supportive environment. Our camps feature a diverse range of adaptive programs, such as high and low ropes courses, winter sports programs and equestrian arenas, as well as the traditional camp activities like swimming, boating, arts and crafts and campfires. We also bring camp to life in resource-limited locations around the world, including Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean through our Global Partnership Program.
Although this list represents the majority of conditions we serve, there are many others that are not listed. We encourage you to contact the camp closest to you for more information.
As part of our commitment to reach as many children as possible, seven SeriousFun camps now offer outreach programs in hospitals. These innovative programs bring the playful spirit of camp to children in hospitals, helping to build confidence and restore joy during times that can be scary, uncertain and lonely. In 2012, more than 25,000 children and families were reached through these initiatives. To learn more about the camps that offer these unique programs, please visit their individual websites.
The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp
The Painted Turtle
a union of strength and joy
spreading the inspiration far and wide.
What started with one camp in the United States in 1988, quickly sparked inspiration around the world, including Europe, where today 5 camps operate year-round as a vital part of the Network. The camp idea first reached Europe when Barretstown was founded in Ireland in 1994. Three years later, L’Envol was founded in France. In 2004, Over The Wall in the U.K. became a member of the global Network. And in 2007, Bator Tabor, in Hungary, and Dynamo Camp in Italy both became full members. Through the work of dedicated staff and volunteers, these camps deliver SeriousFun to thousands of children every year from countries throughout Europe and beyond.

new camp development
In addition to 14 full-member camps worldwide, we’re also working with several committed individuals and groups around the world to develop new camps. To ensure that each new SeriousFun camp opens and operates at the highest level of programmatic and safety standards possible, we support our future camps through strategic consultations, staff training and the sharing of best practices.
